1. The VisiKing Relationship
VisiKing is a digital marketplace and print-on-demand service provider for authors. We provide the infrastructure (the “Engine”) for you to publish, protect, and profit from your work. By creating an account, you agree that you are an independent creator using our services to distribute your work.
2. Intellectual Property & Licensing
- You Own Your Work: VisiKing does not claim ownership of your intellectual property. You retain 100% of your copyright.
- The Distribution License: By uploading your manuscript to VisiKing, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, format, distribute, and sell your digital content on your behalf.
- Warranties: You warrant that you are the sole author of your content and that it does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party. Uploading plagiarized or pirated material is a violation of these terms and will result in immediate account termination.
3. Royalties & Payments
- The 90/10 Split: Authors receive 90% of the net revenue from the sale of their digital eBooks. VisiKing retains 10% to cover server maintenance, payment gateway fees, and platform operations.
- Payouts: We are committed to transparency. You may request withdrawals of your accrued royalties via your Author Dashboard. Payouts are made directly to the Nigerian bank account linked to your profile.
4. Print-on-Demand (POD) Terms
- Service Nature: Our POD service is a distinct fulfillment service. Prices for printing are calculated based on specifications (page count, paper quality, etc.) at the time of order.
- Quality & Fulfillment: While we strive for excellence in our manual printing and quality control processes, VisiKing is not liable for errors in manuscripts provided by the author (e.g., typos in your PDF).
5. Prohibited Conduct
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for content that promotes:
- Hate speech, violence, or illegal activities.
- Unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material.
- Impersonation of other authors.
- Any attempt to hack, scrape, or bypass our DRM security protocols.
6. Limitation of Liability
VisiKing provides the platform “as-is.” While we utilize industry-standard DRM and encryption to protect your digital content, no system is impenetrable. VisiKing is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our service.
7. Termination of Account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service, specifically regarding copyright infringement or malicious platform activity.
8. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved within the jurisdiction of the courts in Lagos, Nigeria.
